Health Care
Medical
Our medical options provide employees and their eligible family members (including domestic partners) with extensive coverage, which is available from their first day of employment. All options cover prescription, preventative care, inpatient and outpatient care, routine office visits, prescription drugs, physical therapy, and mental health/substance abuse treatment and hospice care.

Dental
Our dental options help employees pay for the costs of dental care for themselves and their eligible family members (including domestic partners). Coverage is available from the first day of employment. Coverage pays for preventative, restorative and surgical services, as well as orthodontia at varying levels of coverage.

Vision
Our vision care helps employees maintain eye health and receive discounts on eyewear for themselves and their eligible family members (including domestic partners). Coverage is available on their first day of employment.

Wellness Programs
We care about the well being of our employees. That's why we offer unique benefits to help them lead healthy and fulfilling lives, including on-site flu immunizations and gym reimbursements for health club memberships.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) give employees the opportunity to set aside money on a pre-tax basis for eligible, anticipated, out-of-pocket health care and dependent care expenses. Coverage is available from the first day of employment. Employees can set aside up to the IRS limit per calendar year for reimbursement for eligible out-of-pocket health care expenses (such as copayments for office visits, prescription drugs, some over-the-counter drugs, contact lenses, eyeglasses, orthodontia and hearing aids) through the Health Care FSA. Additionally, employees can set aside money for reimbursement of eligible childcare and/or elder care expenses through the Dependent Care FSA.
Life Insurance
We offer basic life insurance and accidental death insurance at no cost to the employee. Employees may also purchase supplemental and dependent life insurance.
401K
Our 401(k) feature provides employees with a convenient way to save on a pre-tax, after-tax or Roth 401(k) basis. Participating employees can choose to invest their plan balance in a wide range of investments with different levels of risk. Employees may enroll immediately after joining Rigel.
Sick Pay and Medical Leave
Our sick pay and medical leave programs provide compensation for eligible employees who are unable to work due to illness, injury, or pregnancy.
Vacation and Holidays
We believe vacations are good for employee health and overall productivity. Vacation accrual begins on the first day of employment. The amount of vacation time an employee accrues is based on the number of hours worked and the length of service. During the first 3 years of service, vacation is accrued at 3 weeks per year. Starting in the 4th year, vacation is accrued at 4 weeks per year. Vacation accrual for part-time employees will be pro-rated.

Rigel observes 10 paid holidays each year and 2 personal days. Employees joining Rigel after July 1st will receive 1 personal day for that year.
Work-Life Program
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
EAP is a free, confidential short-term counseling program for employees and their dependents. The EAP program provides easy access to a behavioral health professional and referral services for issues like child or elderly care, family problems, legal matters and financial problems.

Pre-Paid Legal & Identity Theft Monitoring
Employees will have direct toll free access to a carefully selected Provider Law Firm for legal issues. Employees can be rest assured knowing conspicuous activity on their credit report is being monitored.

Tuition Reimbursement
Rigel provides a reimbursement for classes enhancing skills that pertain to existing job responsibilities. The reimbursement is paid out upon completion of the class and passing grade of the class.
Commuter Benefits
Commuter subsidy for employees who ride public transportation, carpool or bike to work! Free shuttle service to and from the South San Francisco Ferry, Caltrain and Bart Stations.
