Rigel is committed to supporting independent medical education (IME) activities that are high-quality, fair-balanced, objective, and evidence-based. An independent medical education grant is a type of grant which consists of Rigel funding for independent medical education activities or initiatives which serve to maintain, develop, or increase the knowledge, skills, and/or professional performance of a healthcare professional. These activities or initiatives may or may not be accredited. Through these educational initiatives, Rigel seeks to advance understanding of disease mechanisms and treatment approaches within our therapeutic areas of interest and their impact on patient care.
Rigel is currently accepting IME grant proposals for educational activities, including medical education meetings, conferences, symposia, medical center grand rounds, enduring medical education programs, and similar educational activities in healthcare settings.
Rigel is committed to ensuring that the activities supported through its IME grants are performed with the highest ethical standards, transparency, and strict adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and codes of practice.

How to Apply
- IME grant requests must be submitted independently by the requesting organization to grants@rigel.com.
- Grant proposals are recommended to be submitted at least 60 days prior to the program start date.
- Requests are evaluated using objective criteria, including alignment with an identified educational need, scientific rigor, independence, anticipated educational impact, proposed budget, and the applicant’s qualifications and ability to execute the proposed activity.
- The independent provider retains sole responsibility and control over the submission and execution of the grant request, including the needs assessment, learning objectives, educational design, content, faculty and planner selection, audience selection, delivery, and evaluation of the activity.
- All grant requests are reviewed at the sole discretion of Rigel.
- Submission of a request does not guarantee funding.
- Grant funding is not conditioned on the prescribing, purchasing, recommending, or use of any Rigel product.
- Applicants will be notified of funding decisions via email.
Therapeutic Areas of Interest
- Rigel supports educational initiatives within the following therapeutic areas:
Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC)
- Educate on the current guideline-based treatment options and evolving standards of care for ER-positive/HER2-negative ESR1m metastatic breast cancer.
- Educate on the sequencing strategies following endocrine therapy and CDK4/6 inhibitors in patients with ESR1m metastatic breast cancer.
- Educate on the safety, efficacy, and mechanisms of action of available targeted therapies for ER+/HER2- ESR1m metastatic breast cancer.
- Educate on the management of treatment-related toxicities and incorporate quality of life, adherence, comorbidities, and patient preferences into shared decision-making.
Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)
- Educate on the epidemiology and real-world treatment patterns of IDH1-mutated AML, including utilization of IDH1 inhibitors.
- Educate on the optimal sequencing of targeted therapies across lines of treatment for IDH1m AML patients.
- Educate on the molecular and preclinical scientific evidence among IDH1 inhibitors.
- Educate on the clinical efficacy, safety, and tolerability profiles of IDH1 inhibitors in R/R AML to optimize management of patients receiving IDH1-directed therapy.

Activities Not Eligible for Educational Grants
The following requests are not eligible for support through Rigel's independent medical education grant process:
- Educational activities that are promotional in nature, including brand-specific promotional speaker programs
- Activities intended to promote a commercial product, including commercial exhibits
- Operational funding or general support for patient advocacy organizations
